Hit by a meteor

Just then a meteor comes smashing through the ceiling and hits Fred. Fred
goes, "ooh look, birdies!" before collapsing to the floor in a heap. He
therefore fails to hear a small creature in the meteor pop out and
apologise. "Sorry! Must have taken the wrong turning at Mars. I knew I
should've turned left." The creature pops back inside the meteor and flies
off. Is this the end of Fred?
