Showers For A Smelly Fred

Fred laughs. So that's why so many women and small children had run
screaming from him. And he did smell, so bad even he noticed it. Fred saw a sign leading to 'Showers'. He wasn't sure what that meant. Showers were brief bursts of rain. But rai made someone felt better. Fred followed the sign and ended up in a small room with smooth walls and grooves. There was a drain on the floor and a pipe on the wall. Out of the pipe dripped water. On the wall, about halfway up, with four dials. Fred didn't know much but he could recognize the word for 'Water'. Fred paused. Something was wrong. He backed out of the room and took off all his clothes. Then he entered. Obviously, turning a dial would emit water. All four had the word water on them, along with other text... confusing text! Stupid brain! Which dial does Fred turn?
