Astra (who had suffered nothing worse than minor cuts and bruises in the
fight) was surprised when their captors brought them before an elf. It was
unusual for humans and elves to mingle at all, let alone for an elf to
lead a group of human fighters as this one clearly did.
The elf gave her a baleful glare, and she noticed that his eyes seemed to have a strange green glow to them. He was dressed in a fine outfit of chain mail, suggesting that he might be someone of some importance. "You took a heavy toll of my soldiers, woman," he said. "We had not expected a female to fight so fiercely or so skilfully. I hope that capturing you and your pet will prove to have been worth my men's deaths. Perhaps we can ransom you if you are someone important, or failing that sell you into slavery. Now, tell me who you are, and what you were doing in wild country like this with only a dog for company. And whilst you are at it, you might explain why you are naked."
