Astra, crafty Aqualarian that she is, shoved the kobold into a crevice
between the rock and the cavern wall, successfully bringing the boulder to
a stop ... as well as crushing almost all the kobold's bones.
"Well," said Astra. "At least he was usef--" Her last remark came to a skidding halt as a knife punctured the back of her neck and jugular. The gush of blood at first gargled her voice and then the loss of blood brought her life to an abrupt end. Fred turned around to see the unseen attacker and came face to face with a hooded figure - and then a bright light, a very bright light, so bright that Fred was blinded, as was Velus. When the darkness returned so did their eyesight, but the assassin was gone. And so the adventure resumed: Velus, Teen Dog. Clad in doggy-armor, he was prepared for a little action, but whether he was ready was something yet to be seen. Fred, the Knight. Secretly bewailing the death of Astra because she seemed much better at this adventure stuff than he.
