Slippery When Wet

"Just what the $*!? do you think you're doing?" Astra asked angrily. Fred hadn't expected a princess to know a word like that.

"I thought that you might be able to slide out of the chains if I made your wrists and the chains slippery enough," Fred explained.

"What a crazy idea!" Astra said. "That could never work in a million years. See... oh!" To her surprise, where she had tugged at the shackle around her right wrist to demonstrate just how ridiculous Fred's idea was, her hand had slipped through. She transferred the torch to that hand, and soon had her left hand free as well.

She handed back the torch to Fred, and commenced massaging the stiffness out of her arms. "That's better," she said after a couple of minutes.

"I'd better escort you to the exit," Fred said.

1. "Certainly not!" Astra objected. "I have a score to settle with the dragon."
2. "I suppose that, being without a weapon or armour, if I went after the dragon with you I should be more likely to handicap you than help you. Very well, then, you may take me to the exit, though I don't like retreating from danger."
3. "I... Hey, is the water getting deeper again?"
