Fred examined the letters on the plaque. "U.S.S. Enterprise." He had never
heard of any ship called the Enterprise, or even heard of any nation that
used the U.S.S. prefix. Then he saw a man coming. The man was a bald French man, although he sounded more British. He was wearing the uniform of a 19th-century ship's captain, although of course Fred wouldn't know that. "Computer, end program," said the man. Fred had no idea what that meant. Was it some kind of magic spell? Whatever it was, it didn't work, because nothing happened and the man repeated, "Computer, end program!" Fred approached the strange man. "Who are you?" Fred asked. "I am Captain Jean-Luc Picard, U.S.S. Enterprise," said the man. "Who are you?" "I am Lord Fredrigo D'Honaire. I am on a quest to kill the Dragon of the Southern Caves." "Oh no," said Picard, startled. "This isn't right. You're from a completely different holodeck program!" "What are you talking about?" said Fred. The way this man was talking was quite strange. Was he some kind of wizard? Wizards don't normally captain ships.
