The evil radiating from the child - or perhaps it would be better to
describe it as a fiend in the form of a child - was so strong, that it was
more than even Fred and Astra could stand. They turned and ran. But they
didn't get very far.
"Not so fast," the little girl said, in a voice that they heard in their minds rather than through their ears. "I have a use for you two." As if their limbs were obedient to her will, they found themselves slowing down.
