So it came to pass that Lord Fred's merry band was floating on a raft down an underground river.
There was the warrior Princess Astra, still naked after all this time.
There was Velus, the teen dog, now snoozing in the middle of the raft, his legs pointed up at the celing.
And there was Commander Chakotay, kneeling by the edge of the raft and scanning the bottom of the lake with his tricorder.
Tricorder? What's going on here?
What are you talking about?
Lord Fred can't have a companion with a tricorder. This is a medevial fantasy!
Hey! You guys agreed to let Commander Chakotay be part of Lord Fred's quest. You said nothing about not letting Chakotay have some Federation equipment.
It should be bloody obvious that Chakotay shouldn't be allowed to have the tricorder! It throws the whole millieu right off! What next, is Chakotay going to kill the dragon with a phaser?
Well, uh, the dragon could be resistant to the beam.
Tough cookies. I say the tricorder goes. Chakotay gets a sword and that's it. He can keep his weird spirit animal trances but that's as far as it goes.
