"Captain's log, supplemental. I am stuck with a most curious situation. Ensigns Harry Him and Sam D'inor have been participating in a medevial holodeck setting. It had been going simply, with a simple quest, to kill a dragon that had been terrorizing a local village. Something happpened, though. We're not sure what, yet. Tuvok has theorized it has something to do with D'inor's sensitivity to electrical systems. You see, he's not exactly human. D'inor came from a race that had encountered a half-destroyed Federation ship lost one hundred and fifty years ago. Thinking we were some sort of a threat, he had been converted to look human and sent to spy on us. Fortunately we made peaceful contact but he could not be converted back due to the nature of his physiology. But I'm getting ahead of myself and his details are all in his records. In the midst of the setting D'inor got hit by a powerful magic spell. Naturally, he wasn't harmed but somehow a connection was made between his sensitivity to energy currents and the holodeck itself. Ensign Kim reported random flashes of light, rumbling and then calm. He instantly tried to shut down the holodeck but he had been thrown to the floor during the rumbling and was out of breath. One of the characters, Lord Fred, frantically asked Kim not to delete the program. Kim saw D'inar, unmoving on some rocks. He contacted the Doctor for an emergency beamout. D'inar is still in some sort of coma in sickbar. In five minutes, a team consisting of me, Tuvok, Kim, Torres and Kes will be entering the Holodeck to discover if the characters have achieved sentience or not. It has happened before, with Moriarty on the USS Enterprise and Han Solo on the USS Exeter. The last one had signs of Borg experimentation. Unfortunately Solo sacrificed itself to help stop a Borg virus infestation of the Federation's primary memory banks. Log Out..."
