Fred and the Unreadable Book

Well, the title could have been that, as far as Fred knew, as he was illiterate. (The description of the books' contents in episode 160 was more for the reader's benefit than Fred's.) However, the big red letters caught his attention. Maybe there was something important in the book.

He was a little nervous as he opened the book - the written word was the field of tax collectors and wizards, either of which could use the hidden knowledge written in these to take wealth and lands from him. There was the incomprehensible script, with lots of pretty pictures in the margins. Whoever made the book favoured pictures of birds and flowers. He skipped over to page twenty-six and twenty-seven, which had no text. Fred recognized the picture as

1. a panoramic view of some battle.
2. a woodcut showing an aerial view of a city at peace.
3. a drawing of various strange and fantastic beasts.
