The Never Ending Quest - Episode 29894

Elves were generally trustworthy folks, so the three followed the
newcomer. Sure, it was a risk but better then standing around in an
unfamilar land, no clothes for two thirds of the group and peopled by
citizens who refuse silver. The elf led them through the woods, ever eastward. Though the forest was dark and thick and the underbrush ever plentiful, Bjorn (for as he had swiftly introduced himself as such) managed to find his way. Soft dirt, warm, flat rocks, natural bridges over streams... Fred wanted to ask what the hurry was but the tension crossing the elf's features made him clam up. Something was going on. Especially since the birds and the animals were making less and less of a noise. Fred flicked his eyes back to the women following. He was gratified to note that both were constantly scanning the woods for anything. And both had picked up long, thick branches, useful for cracking skulls. Bjorn dodged left around an oak tree, right around a pile of boulders and...dodged somehow through a fallen tree. Yes, through. Fred and the others found themselves following on sheer momentum. The ended up against a vine covered stone wall a few stories tall. A small, thin wooden door was set ten feet in. Two faded symbols above the entranceway indicated that this was the home to the legendary Mage Monks of Montelban. Bjorn stopped, shadowed by the entranceway. "You won't be seeing the monks in here." he whispered. "But it's still a safe haven from what is patrolling the woods." "And that would be..." Artemis whispered. It wasn't a question. "Damned if I know." Bjorn gestured and the door swung open, to reveal a long hallway with plus red carpeting, green upholstered benches, faux-gold lined doors and twelve other elves. Three of them had bows and arrows pointed at the door. They lowered them when Bjorn stepped through.
