Fred had a worrying thought. "When we came out to see what was going on, I
left my pack in our room," he said.
"Not a good idea when there are scavengers about," Astra agreed. They turned and made their way back to their room. Everything was gone! Even the cots that they had slept in had been taken in the no more than ten minutes that they had been away. "Well, we'll no longer have to worry about disposing of the dragon's treasure," Fred sighed. "But losing my pack is a blow." "The horse!" Astra exclaimed. "We've got to rescue it. We might not be intending to keep it, but it's all we have left apart from the clothes we stand up in." They dashed down to the inn's stables, or rather what was left of them.
