The middle-aged, fierce-looking woman who had run out of the house when she had seen what was going on said: "That's not my problem. I need those clothes, but I have no use for trinkets, not even silver ones."

Astra and Artemis reluctantly took off the clothes that they had just put on, and pegged them back on the line.

The woman picked up the silver ankle band that Fred had left on her door-step. "Here, this is yours," she said.

Fred took it from her. "Thank you," he said. "Er, I don't suppose that you could tell us where we are?"

1. "They call this land Oz," the woman said. None of the three had heard of such a land.
2. "Gana," came the reply. They were a long way from any of their homes, but at least they knew where they were.
3. "Your supposition is correct," the woman said curtly. "Good day to you." Then she slammed the door on them.
