Fred felt a very strange sensation emanating from within himself. It was
so strange that he wanted to throw up. Instead, he simply feinted. When
he awoke he found himself inside a room made of metal and glass. He was
on a bed of sorts and he could hear strange sounds all about him.
"He's awake," came a voice. It was the man who he saw in the desert. "Don't be afraid, now," he said in a calm voice. "You're safe here. This is sickbay, a hospital, and we're gonna have you right and spiffy in a jiffy or my name isn't Dr. McCoy." Fred lifted himself up with his elbows, his stomach still felt ill. He couldn't see Astra anywhere. "Ah," said the doctor. "I think you're looking for your lady-friend. She's got one helluva stamina! She's with Nurse Chapel right now getting a better wardrobe. She'll be back soon." Just then there was a swooshing sound and Fred was amazed to see a segment of the wall just open up as if it was a door! A little man in a uniform came in, he looked green in the face. "Doctor," he said. "I don't feel so good...I think it vas something I ate from the food processor." Then he sat down on a bed next to Fred. Fred looked at him and simply had the urge for small talk. "Greetings," he said. "I am Lord Frederigo D'Honaire of Suffex, from the Great Kingdom Allaria." The little man looked up at Fred and said, "I am Chekov; Pavel Andreievich Checkov of the U.S.S. Enterprise." Fred stared at the little man. "That's a strange name for a kingdom." "Idiot," murmured Chekov. "Its not a kingdom, its a ship." Then he looked for the doctor. "Doctor McCoy! I feel like a terellian bloodworm is inside my gut...give me a hypospray or at least a vodka!" The man was obviously in pain, so Fred left him alone. Although he was very puzzled as to why the little man would've told him he came from a boat.
