House of Heart

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 28991

Fred, bear that he is, still knows his way around Caemlyn. He knows that twelve blocks over from the Great Castle is the Allarian branch of the Unseen University. He knows that powerful wizards reside there. He knows that they would know what to do. What he doesn't know is that along with the missing castle there is a lot of other stuff missing, altered, transmorphed, or just plain redecorated.

"Uh, I coulda sworn it was here," says Lord Fred the bear.

"Uh, huh," you say staring at an edifice shaped like a heart and smelling like peppermint. "Maybe this is the Unseen branch of the House Valentine, or maybe the Candy-Witch's manufacturing center, or better yet the Gingerbreadman's hideout!"

Fred, not registering your sarcasm or simply ignoring it replied: "Well, yeah maybe, except why is this place shaped like a human heart?" For indeed, the place you and he are looking at, the place that smells like peppermint leaves wafting on a summer breeze, is in fact shaped like a human heart, a pulsating, lubricated, zesty aortic, pulmonic, and superior vena cava muscle!

"I wonder what happened to the University and the mages..." says Lord Fred in his deep growly voice.

"I wonder why this place looks like a slaughterhouse but smells like a temple?" you say.

Suddenly a third voice pipes in: "You fellas wonder too much! Why not go in and find out!"

And without a how-do-you-do you and Lord Fred the bear find the street under your feet suddenly not there and your bodies falling, falling, falling down a long chute that smelled of rosemarine!

  1. Under the House of Heart!
  2. Meanwhile in the Dark Tower...
  3. Back at the Caves Sir Toby the dog bumps into Sir Paulito the faux dragon (why faux? you ask, because he can't breathe fire)...
