the Investigation begins

Thessamar agreed and Velus yipped a 'yes' as well. Frederigo's plated boots crunched across the gravel and the sound seemed to echo in the absence of any other noise. There were puddles here and there and long shadows from the Forest cast themselves upon the black wood of the Inn's outer skin.

Fred couldn't help but keep pondering the reason behind the silence; could it be the dragon? could it be the Cardasii mentioned in the scroll? could it be the miserable mages found often in the employ of the dreaded Black Market Cult? Fred did not know but he did want to find out.

As his feet thudded against the porch the main door was flung open and a short man with a large mustache waddled out. "Hallo," he whispered. "Welcome to the Inn. Please, be very, very quiet, we've had some complaints of late about the noise and...well....it's a long story, but...ah, lizard crud!"

The small man was obviously anxious and frustrated, but about what Fred couldn't even imagine. Then the man looked up and noticed Thessamar, as if for the first time. "Well hallo beautiful! Please, if you'd like some sweet ale or shepherd wine this is the place. Come, sit down, have a drink on me and I'll tell you all about it."

1. The trio agrees and enters the place to hear the little man's tale.
2. Fred does not recognize the man and doubts the truth of his explanation, besides, the group needs to get to the County Suffex as quickly as possible. They go their own way leaving the Inn behind.
