Shortly after slaying the Unspeakable One, the orcs swept through the
countryside under the enormously heroic Fred. They liberated the puny
lands of the knights with their foolish notions of chivalry and
established an enduring order in the land under the kindly eyes of the
dragon. Citizens, now all equal, diligent and hardworking, happily labored toward the Greater Good. The title Hero was soon forced upon Citizen Fred. He accepted it humbly, though he much desired to be as equal as the happy citizens about him. As Hero, he labored diligently to prove himself worthy of the magnanimous title. Foolish, puny and weak humans attempted to overthrow the happy empire because they wanted to establish a lazy and corrupt system of knights and ladies or an indolent democracy. At times, Hero Fred had the most difficult and unenviable task of setting orcs upon them, their houses and their families. To minimize these unpleasantries, he carefully tried to remove every last vestige of the previous system so that foolish and guilible humans would not fall in the trap of thinking the past society greater, thereby leading themselves and others to destruction. "A diligent mind stays sober of trouble," Hero Fred proclaimed. All happy citizens rallied around him wherever he went. A wonderful dark cloud shined upon the land, rallying every happy citizen to the Greater Good. It moved about them as a mist, both day and night. All hailed it as the Glorious Darkness.
