"The sofas, of course, are representative of the sentient mind's desire for comfort and familiarity, and the walls are representative of the psychological barriers erected by the mind to keept the outside world external... Do you know, I tried to explain this concept to Sigmund Freud, but he simply would not accept it as a valid symbolism. Kept going on about tunnels and cigars. Very strange man, Siggy. Brilliant, but strange. Now, applying this logic--"

"Hey, Doctor!" Betty's voice interrupted him. "Look what I found!" She held up a futuristic weapon labelled "Phobos Blaster." "It was under the seat cushions."

The Doctor clapped her on the back. "Oh, well done! An absolutely stunning display of deductive thematics!"

"Actually," said Betty, "I sat on the sofa and felt a lump under my butt."

"Give me that!" the Master said, snatching the device out of her hand. Apparently taking in the blaster's functions in a single glance, he swiftly raised it and blasted a Scott-sized hole in the wall. "There," he said. "Our way out!"

  1. And he dived on through the hole.
  2. But as they moved over to peer out the hole, they could see only empty space for a long, long way down.
  3. Suddenly, Sigmund Freud appeared.
