Offler's Appeasement

Fred rubbed his eyes and scanned the plain, spotting the man some 50 yards away. Fred's hunter-instinct kicked in and he he went into a trance."Come, Astra! Our prey is escaping!" He defly lept into the air and bounded after the unwilling pawn of god- appeasement. Astra sprang after him, the thrill of a hunt coursing through her blood as she sped like the wind on the scent of the green- haired man.

Within moments the entire brook was bubbling and frothing as if it was boiling under the heat of a great fire. Somewhere admidst all of turmoil Khrusti was being torn into a hundred different pieces, the mid-day snack for the ever-lurking crocodiles that plagued this particular brook. Fred was first to arrive on the scene, if only barely, and he viewed the bloody little spectacle with much satisfaction. "There we are!" he beamed, patting Astra on the back. "He has at least satisfied Offler, the crocodile god. Perhaps he will put in a good word for us with the rest of the pantheon!"

"No, Offler! He is a lesser-god, true, but his word is reputable amoung the higher-ups. I'm sure we'll be fine now."

"Why, you're right! He has been smitten horribly, it is best we take him out of his misery. Let us cast him into this brook to further appease Offler!"

"Why thank you, Astra!"

"Well it was taken as one! Come, let us fetch the boy!"

1. Before they reached the raft, more writing formed in the sky...
2. But when they got to the raft, Velus was gone!
3. But when they turned to go back to the raft, they saw Velus paddling the raft towards them!
4. But wait - could it be!? Khrusti lives!
