Painting the Town Red

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 28399

"Maybe we should go to the town," said Fred thoughtfully.

"Well, let's go!" replied Sylvia cheerfully.

And off they went. Fred, who had always been mistaken about water and heavy objects, soon realized that he could walk on the stuff--easily and without care. Sylvia pranced with him and the dog skipped along behind among the waves. She knew her directions well too, being guided only by the moon. By early the next morning they had ventured onto the beach near the town.

"I'm exhausted. Let's get something to eat," sighed Silvia. She clutched Fred's arm and together they walked into town as a lord and lady. Local townspeople looked upon the couple with some awe. Fred was proud of the wave of murmurs that swept through the crowds as they walked steadily down the street. They were bringing civilization to this remote part of the earth. Sylvia seemed to know where she was going and nudged Fred this way and that. Finally, they arrived at the center of the town. An important looking man rushed up to them.

"Mi Lord, mi Lady!!," he cried, "It has been so long. We did not expect your return."

"Ah, never mind dear Claxton," said Sylvia with ease, "I trust you have my room ready?"

"It shall be ready in a moment!" the little man said hastily.

Fred and Sylvia followed the little man to the town hall. There guards stood at attentiona as they walked in. They were quickly escorted to a room with a prepared breakfast.

"It is as my lady wishes," explained the man.

Fred and Sylvia sat down to eat. By this time, Fred was a bit perplexed about the goings on.

"They are my friends," explained Sylvia.

  1. They eat and retire for a rest
  2. An ambush is waiting for them after they eat
  3. Fred corners the little man and interrogates him
