Let Sleeping Lions Lie?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 28104

Several hours later...

"I could swear the parrot was that way," grumbled Amy.

"Don't swear. It's a barbaric thing to do."

"But barbers don't swear very much..."

"Argh! Shut up about barbers! A true Dragonslayer has more important things to do than cut his hair like a vain fop! Wait, did you hear that?"

They looked around them, and saw that a dozen three-foot green parrots were circling the sky above them. "Tekila-li! Tekila-li!" they cried out. Amy, speechless with fear, clung to Fred.

Suddenly, a a terrible roar rang out again, which turned into a laugh, which turned into a noise like the rumbling of a volcano, which turned into a strange cry which a denizen of a civilization more advanced than Fred's or Amy's would have recognized as the sound a modem makes when it dials up the internet. "What was that," asked Fred, trying to keep the fear out of his voice.

"Look," stated Amy, as she pointed to a nearby tree. It was a huge palm tree underneath which lay a majestic lion, in deep slumber. In the tree above the lion sat a huge, nightmarish thing that looked vaguely like a parrot. "These creatures are spoken of in the myths of Cogan. The lion is Amtor the Lion, the Great Creator, and the whole universe is his dream. The parrot is Yag-Soth, the Drunken Chaos who Blasphemes at the Center of Creation. Its cries disturb Amtor in his sleep, and bring about nightmares. They are the source of all evil in the universe."

For a moment, Fred was overcome with awe. Finally, he ventured "That is the stupidest myth I've ever heard in my life."

"Yet there they are."

"So this is the center of creation, huh?"

"If these are truly Amtor and Yag-Soth, it is."

"I didn't expect it to be this humid." Then, he heard another noise add itself to the strange muddle. It was a strange melancholy song, whose words Fred could only barely make out: "Oooh, mexico. SOunds so simple, I'd sure like to go..."

"Run!" said Amy. "That is the song of the Parrot-Heads, the wicked spawn of Yag-Soth! They will eat us alive if we do not flee!"

  1. Can Fred and Amy escape the evil Parrot-Heads? Stay tuned!
