Hal's Mother Explodes

"Not for any drugs I've ever heard of," said Wayland. "Eww," he added a moment later. "I think I've got some old lady bits in my hair. Could you check for me, please?"

"Aaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhh!" wailed Hal.

Thyd immediately went over to console him, casting a rebuking look at the others. "How can you be so insensitive? This poor kleptomaniac has just lost his mother! He needs supportiveness! He needs counselling! He needs... Oh, hang on, I think I have a scroll here with some very useful advice on the twelve steps of the grieving process..."

"Aaaaaaaaaggggghhhhh!" sobbed Hal.

"Excuse me," said a voice from behind them. "Do you folks need some help?"

They all looked up at the owner of the voice. Much to their surprise, it was:

1. Argyle! (You kow, the guy they came here to find.)
2. The king!
3. Hal's mom! Wait, didn't she just explode?
4. The monkey.
