The Never Ending Quest - Episode 27950

Fred's fall was terminated by a pile of soft & fluffy pillows. "Ah, that's nice." Fred sighed in relief. He considered taking a quick nap, when suddenly he heard a low, menacing growl beside his face. He looked up to behold a large attack dog standing there - and the animal looked more than a little pissed off!

"Yikes!" said Fred, jumping to his feet and taking off running at a very high velocity. The attack dog followed closely. For dog connoseurs, the following information is available - the pup is a Brown/Gold spotted Agramanian Assault Hound, not a popular breed at dog shows, but well prized for its loyalty and durability in combat. Fred ran through twisting hallways of gray marble, lit by torches that burned with blue flame. He knew that if he did not find shelter soon, the beast at his heels would surely lock its jaws around Fred's sensitive posterior tissue and possibly inflict severe bleeding and trauma. Of course Fred could merely hack the animal to death with his sword, but he just happened to be a dog lover, with a mighty stable of hunting hounds at his home estate. Fred's mother was infamous at the courts of Allaria for taking a herd of those funny looking little lap dogs with her wherever she went. People would point and whisper "There goes the miniature dog lady!", which would cause Fred' s father considerable embarrasment, but since he was fond of dogs himself, there was little he could do.

But I digress. Fred kept running through the accursed hallway until he chanced to arrive at a stout oaken door. He stopped to grab at the doorknob - but alas, it proved to be one of those doors that opened outward rather than in, giving the doggie ample time to attach its jaws to Fred's buttocks. Never had our hero felt so demeaned, even as he pulled the door open and shuffled inside, with the ferocious beast growling and hanging on.

Within was what appeared to be a wine cellar. "Allright!" thought Fred. "Now if only I wasnt in horrible pain, I could try some of the good stuff!" (Medieval lords were all notorious alcoholics, as any short glance through a history book will prove).

Yes, before Fred gets smashed, he has to decide what to do with his newfound little friend.

  1. Try to dislodge the mutt with a combo of sword hilt, wine bottle and burning blue-flame torch.
  2. Leave the dog on as a flamboyant fashion statement.
  3. Get the doggie drunk in an attempt to befriend it.
