"If the Dragon took thy armour, I suppose that explains the thin white
robe
that thou art wearing," Fred said. "I thought it did not seem very
practical for the caverns."
"Yes, the Dragon dressed me in it. I fear that it will prove an encumbrance underwater. But sir Dragonslayer, dost thou have a sword for me?" "I'm afraid not. All that I can offer thee is this dagger." Fred took the item from his belt and handed it to her. Fred was reluctant to ask for magical assistance from Belboz, though it occurred to him that the mage could probably conjure up a sword for Andromeda if he chose. The Atlantean seemed pleased with the dagger, though. After examining it carefully, she said: "This is of fine quality, though I suspect that unlike our own blades the metal is not rustproof. I give thee thanks. I shall look after it carefully and will try not to get it wet." "Thou art welcome, and do not worry about getting it wet," Fred said, hoping that he was getting his archaic speech patterns correct. He turned to Belboz. "Why did you say that the lady could hardly be expected to swim from the rock to here? It would seem that the water is her true element."
