The scrawny mutant's name turned out to be Stuart. His power was
the ability to stretch to superhuman length (although it takes him a
few days to get back to normal) and he has apparently been taking
care of the sewer system for some time. He told Fred in far too much
detail about how it works, and he tuned most of it out.
One thing, however, stuck out in Fred's mind. Apparently, one of Magneto's recent experiments caused a huge lump of fecal matter in the sewers to mutate into a radioactive, man-eating monster, which has haunted the sewers for some time. This is why people who take this job usually don't last very long. Fred wondered whether his luck could get any worse and why no one has any confidence in him. However, it ocurred to him that if he killed the radioactive poop monster, he might get promoted.
