your personal pride be a factor," the one who has been introduced as
Aynine says, exasperation in her tone. Her hands are on her hips, and she
looks very formidable considering that going by her face you would say
that she was no more than eighteen. She continues: "He poses a threat to
far more than just Allaria and he must be stopped. We shall proceed
with our mission. You and your companions can come with us or not, as you
choose."
"If you weren't a girl and I didn't have a bad foot..." Fred mutters. This is going well, Belboz thinks. I like to see them bicker. I wish I knew the origin of this strange new group, though. They seem quite a formidable bunch. One of them was easily able to dispell the suit of armour that I put on Astra, and the one that was produced to replace it is a top quality magical item. "Jarlath, can you heal his foot?" Astra 9 asks. "That should be no problem." "Then, Lord Frederigo, when he has healed you, will you take me on in unarmed combat? If you win, we will give you twenty-four hours to deal with the dragon before we move in. If I win, you either leave the dragon to us or, if you prefer, you come along with us on the understanding that you'll do as you're told."
