The Hermit's Cottage

Astra decided that the hermit would be her best bet. Someone who had
little to do with other folk might not have been infected by the insanity
that seemed to have gripped Allaria. Who had she heard about him from?
Somehow, she found that she couldn't quite recall. Perhaps it had been
someone
over dinner last night. She hoped that, whoever her informant had been, he
was reliable.
She found the trail off the main road that should lead her to the hermit's dwelling, and took it. Another twenty minutes, and she saw his thatched cottage ahead of her. She was pleased to see that, at least on the outside, it looked to be in good order. She dismounted, and tied her horse to a convenient tree. Then she walked up to the front door and knocked. After a short delay, the door was opened.
