Sir Josh explained that it had taken most of the past year for Allaria's
mages to track down where Lord Fred had got to. It hadn't been possible
for the mages to transport him (or his companions) back. Someone would
have to go to the island to cast the necessary spell. Sir Josh wasn't
really a magic user, but he was the only volunteer for what could prove to
be a dangerous mission.
"So they decided that they had better teach me the simplest spell that would do the job," Sir Josh went on. "Unfortunately it has a side effect. You'll arrive back in Allaria totally hairless. Even your eyebrows will be gone. If it's any consolation, the same will apply to me." "But it will grow back, won't it?" Astra asked.
