The Never Ending Quest - Episode 26709

Inquirer

"Brought to you from those funny folks of Area 51!" I smile right before I put Mobius out again (this time with a sleep spell).

I cannot believe that I almost fell for the oldest, corniest trick in the book like that! A damn bottomless pit?! Even at my worst time DMing, I never stooped so low as to try that gag and here I....

Oh man, I am pissed! But then I do not let it show to the general public (though my husband can sense it within me). See, while I was able to either anticipate Dr. Mobius' actions even before he made them (for the most part), I must admit even he surprised me near the end (and it almost cost me dearly). You'd think that with the effort I put into creating a personality matrix (augmented with input from Diana Walker, with her numerous disciplines in psychology and such for a better game session) I'd do a better job. Then again, while this Torg world does mirror so very much my gaming session...is not perfect. I'd be utterly foolish to miss that fact. Still, a bit of Dungeon Master (I utterly refuse the title of Game Master) knowledge and insight cannot hurt, eh? No matter how disconcerting I'm going to find it!

What really burns my butt, however, is that in the process I'm going (I know this in my metallic bones) to basically ruin all future games for Torg through what will be revealed! Small thing, but....

Heh, yet again I see in passing what that putz, Author Scott Chen, had been trying to do with both Betty and Ragan . If their minds had been less supple like say that one Betty Ragan who Roland and friend had met (re: 13434) would have snapped under the absurdity of it all!

Heh, absurdity. Like an immortal, magic spell slinging cyborg woman who's married a Timelord? No, absurdity seems to dog my path ever since the Military (and myself) came upon the eldritch (but fantastic) world of Terra Prime. If nothing else, it's been exciting (and invigorating).

That said, though....

We're going to need every advantage in this dire situation, after all. We're after f*cking Torg High Lords, for Creator's sake! Next stop will be the Cyber-Papacy, where the hope is that I (a being born in cyber- space) can ambush the High Lord there (and then hopefully we can locate his real body in the physical world and scoop him up before his faithful priests/protectors find him). Feel that his presence within the God-Net (his version of the suped up Internet, with VR thrown in) will be likely, as he'll be trying to find any traces of his Darkness Device within there with the demise of it's physical presence within what passes as reality outside.

Of course, whilst all that is running through my head, it looks like the Creator (always a joker....what a guy) decides to let the next shoe fall.

See, the PCs have been, in effect, exposing themselves to massive doses of otherworldly physics by being within the TARDIS (which, I must say, doesn't run on axioms at all)....

It is, in effect, a glimpse of things to come. No, it is not something like a "disconnect" where the mystical link between the PCs' far off cosm's axioms are severed (subjecting them to the axioms which they are present in). No, it's...more akin to something like "axiom wash", an event which can actually ....

  1. ...change a person (mentally as well as perhaps physically)...
