"We're in luck." Astra grabbed Fred's arm and hurredly made her way
toward the laundry. Fred babbled something about bruising easily and
spewed his guts out yet another time as he was escorted through the
darkened alleyway. This time around he managed to miss both himself and
Astra. A disheveled little gnome, passed out behind a pile of fishbones,
was
not so lucky. The rickety doors to the establishment were swung open, and a scalding ploom of steam engulfed them. Fred shrieked in agony, stumbling backwards and tripping over his own feet. Astra merely shrugged, yanking Fred by the hair and dragging him in the rest of the way. As the mists began to part, they saw an expansive room with several large basins in one corner. Wires criss-crossed the entire place, lined with clothes. An ornately woven tapestry hung on one wall, depicting a bald man with a bulbous gut, smelling a pile of clean socks contentedly. A small oriental man with a whispy grey mustache and beard was revealed to be standing directly in front of them. "Welcome, good people," he greeted them warmly, his accent thick. "I was expecting you.""Oh, did you? How so?" Astra asked skeptically. "Ancient Chinese secret," was his mystical, albeit stereotypical reply."Well I don't have time for all of that," the warrior Princess blurted, "I need you to wash this velvet dress...hey, waaait a minute! This is another ambush!" Both Fred and the short man looked at each other and shook their heads."Well I wouldn't expect you two pigs to understand! This episode and it's predecessor is a blatant attempt to trick me into waltzing around naked! Now I'm supposed to remove my dress and let your eyes have their way with my body!? I've had it!" "You speak as one who has much wisdom," the short man gently replied. "I can wash this dress for you, and give you fresh towel until I am done. This towel smell like spring-time breeze. Nobody in Hespan do laundry better than me.""Well...ok," Astra droned. "What's your name, anyway? And what's 'Chinese'?" "Some call me...Wu? And Chinese people are from China. It long way from here. Long, long, long way. It not even exist on this world."She ignored the not existing in this world part. "Nice to meet you, Wu. My name is Astra. Listen, we're kind of in a hurry, so if you could do this quickly we'd be much obliged." Fred belched loudly and passed out on a pile of freshy laundered boxers. "Sure, sure," Wu nodded. "You no worry. Here." He handed her a towel. "Go behind curtain behind you and change. No worry. No one see you there. Hurry now, come on!"
