The Never Ending Quest - Episode 2667

Commander Chakotay sat back on his chair in his quarters. "Computer, activate log." The hidden system chirped. "Activated." it said. "First Officer's Personal Log: Supplemental." the man said from his position, knowing the words would be recorded. "We have an intruder in our systems. The sickbay holosystems. Fortunately our Doctor was in his holoemitter at the time the intrusion occured. So he is safe. What activates now as the EMH is a warrior from Earth's ancient times. A fictional time, that is. He insists he is called Lord Fred, and is on a quest to slay the dragon, a mythical creature that does not exsist. Mr. Tuvok believes that this Lord Fred, if the mind is from the past, intended to slay a creature such as the Loch Ness Monster. That was a creature that many believed did exsist, though no verifiale truth did exsist." Chakotay paused to strech his legs. "A science team is working right now to move the 'Lord Fred' persona into Holodeck One. I wouldn't be as careful, but Captain Janeway did remind me Starfleet's main mission is to meet new life. She doesn't seem to remember that I wasn't Starfleet before the Caretaker took us. Naturally, I would do what she says but still." Chakotay continued. "If all goes well, we'll have a sentient new crewmember. It won't be nuts like the Cardassian program was. Boy did that go badly. I'm still wondering though, if all these holo-half-people could have helped us save Ensign Jetal way back when. Now, well, Tom Paris is the assistant like Kes was. And two docs is all the ship was complemented for. Even though we started out with two docs AND the EMH. I think I'll see what I can do about increasing Tom's medical studies. Well, time to sign off and sail further through the Delta Quadrant towards home. We've saved like what, half the seventy years through wormholes and thus, but we still have quite a ways to go."
