A Strange Conversation

Then things got even odder, when a naked old woman appeared and said: "Give me that kitten! It's mine. I'm going to eat it." Stacy hissed at the woman. She might not understand her words, but she could sense her evil intent.

"You can't have Stacy," Astra replied. "I don't believe she's yours, and anyway eating pets is wrong. There are lots of vegetables growing here in the garden. Why don't you eat those instead?"

"Because meat is nicer. Besides, I'm growing the vegetables for the dragon, for him to feed to his workers. I can't just eat them all myself." She paused for a moment, then said: "You're Princess Astra, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am," Astra said. "But how could you possibly know that?"

"I know many things," the old woman said, grinning and revealing toothless gums in the process. Astra wondered how she could manage to eat meat without any teeth.

"Really?" Astra responded.

"Oh, yes. Well, if I can't eat the kitten, can I eat you?"

"Certainly not!"

1. The surreal conversation continues.
2. The old woman takes her right hand from behind her back. There's a meat cleaver in it. Astra prepares to defend herself with her broadsword.
