What in the blazes...?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 25514

They stumble upon a circle of small tents, and one large tent. However, there are corpses littering the area. Upon closer inspection, they are the dismembered, burned, and/or disfigured bodies of the pirates. Fred and Astra search the tents, they find only one living pirate. He is in the larger tent, which is a weapons cache, filled with melee weapons, explosives, and newer powder weapons. They are able to extract from the pirate that they were making an attempt on the Dragon's extensive collection of treasure, but were greatly overpowered. Everybody but him was killed, and he was mortally wounded. The pirate then dies with a sputter of blood from a gaping hole in his chest. Fred and Astra load up on weapons and armor (Oh, and some clothes for Astra!), preparing to take on the Dragon. They also fashion a makeshift suit of dog-armor for Velus in case they come across him. As they exit the tent, there is a rumbling at the cieling of the cave. A fuzzy figure falls, landing flat on Fred's head, falling to the floor with a *THUD* and a "Bark!" It's Velus! Using the system of yes and no barks, they are able to figure out that... ...well, they really don't want to know what happened. Once Velus is suited up in his dog-armor, they set off to find the dragon.

Well, they have several routes they could take.

  1. They could take the passage to the south, the way they came in.
  2. They could take the passage to the east. There is a foul stench emmenating from that passage.
  3. They could take the passage to the north. There is a cool, almost cold wind flowing from this corridor.
