She and Velus watched as the shimmering doorway seemed to ripple, like a puddle with a rock dropped in it. A figure formed inside the ripples, and a man emerged. He was only three feet tall - just under the height of the mysterious light beam - but otherwise appeared to be human. Quite human.

In fact, he was one the handsomest men Astrid had ever laid eyes on. His muscles were sizable and well-proportion, his hair was golden, his skin tanned and bronzed, and his face was the face of a god. Even Astrid, who was fully male (except in body), felt her heart skip a beat. If Astra were here and human, she thought to herself, She'd likely be ogling him quite closely.

The man looked around for a moment, a slight frown on his chiseled face, until he spotted the two of them.

1. "My master, the dragon, has sent me!" he screeched. "For tresspassing his sacred caves, you must die!"
2. "Hold!" he said sternly. "My master, the dragon, wishes to treat with you!"
3. "Well, well, well," he smirked, in what was unmistakably the voice of Belboz, "This is interesting. Quite interesting indeed!"
4. "No no no!" he wailed. "This is all wrong!"
5. "Is everyone all right?" he asked in concern. "Oh, we're really quite sorry about the malfunction!"
6. "Help me!" he pleaded. Then he screamed, burst into flames and vanished.
7. "Hullo, Fred," he said cheerfully. "I see you've managed to muck things up quite a bit."
8. "Astra, my darling," he exclaimed, falling to his knees. "At last, after all these months, I've found you!"
9. "Greetings, most delectable lady," he smiled charmingly. "Might I have the honor of knowing your name?"
10. He said nothing, but simply shrugged and walked back into the doorway.
