The Never Ending Quest - Episode 25048

Fred can't believe this strange bedroom he's found himself in, and less so the WEIRD STUFF he has discovered in the drawers. Whoever lives here will surely come soon, and whoever lives here will surely not like what Fred has done to the ceiling (nor the fact that he has been rummaging through the drawers!). Looking at all the WEIRD STUFF he decides to take the super hero comic book starring super banana-man, but first he wanted to read it to make sure it was what he hoped for.

Caught in the heart of a primeval explosion of octarine magick gone wild, Farmer Bruce Banter now finds himself transformed into the dark personification of his repressed rage and fury, an anger aimed most especially at the thought of being ucontrollably turned into a bright yellow banana-man! Stanley presents... The Incredible Super Banana-Man!

In our last issue... On the run - from the Palace Guards, from the Council of the Autocrat, from clandestine forces faceless and compassionless... and from the unbridled beast within that men call Banana-Man - Farmer Bruce Banter knows the dread of the hunted, the terror of a mind never completely his, never entirely sane...

Banter [walking towards the potato fields of a farm]: So, Ricky, isn't it great to just be a plain old farmer... by Seuss! how I love the smell of fertilizer in the morning!

Ricky [stepping slightly away from farmer Banter]: Uh, sure... whatever you say... I'm just glad you walked into our village... you being a stranger and all... cause, um, you know, not to deride you and your dreams, but I dream one day of leaving this field, this village, and traveling to the mighty town of Kingsopolis.

Banter [shaking his head as he walks]: Oh, Ricky, you don't want to do that... you don't know the dangers of places like Kingsopolis. Why, there'r magicians there that'll rip you into little peices and put you back together in all the wrong ways!

Ricky [laughing]: Oh simple farmer, that's just a fable... I know that one, it's called Humpty Dumpty and the Wizard's men.

[Banter notices that there are extra sets of footprints in the mud of the field. He looks about suspiciously and sees shadowy figures by the corn stalks]

Banter [grabbing Ricky by the shoulder and pushing him towards the right]: You know, maybe you're right. Maybe we should take a break from field work.

Ricky [trying to push Banter away from him]: Look, mister... I didn't say that... we've got chores to do and you promised my dad that...

Banter [shoving Ricky to the mud]: Duck!

[a shot of octarine energy flashes from the corn fields and strikes Banter. He runs, a burning florescence ringing from his head, he runs into a copse of oak trees. Ricky can't see a thing as his face is covered in mud. Within moments a roar is heard and the bright yellow form of Banana-Man is seen bouncing out of the copse]

Banana-man: AAARRRGGH! GGGRRROOOWWWRR!!! ME SMASSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!
