Angel's Gift
The Never Ending Quest - Episode 24916

Velus ran in abject misery. His ribs ached from Fred's shoggoth-powered
kick - but even worse was the thought of his friend being forever lost to
the forces of darkness. It was hard to believe that only a day ago the
Dragon was the only threat to human life Velus knew of. Now, he also had
to worry about these Shoggoths! It was a heavy burden for one little doggy
to bear. Suddenly, Velus saw a glow in the corridor ahead of him. Curious, he raced to investigate, and turning the corner, was filled with awe to behold what could only be one of God's angels! The radiant, heartachingly beautiful creature gazed upon Velus with sky-blue eyes and spoke "Oh faithful boy- dog, your piety and courage have not gone unseen. Know this - forces converge upon your world which could well destroy all you hold dear. You are humankind's last hope. Your faith and righteousness may yet redeem your sinful race. Therefore, accept these powers, and with them, go forth to triumph over evil." The Angel raised her hand, and Velus felt his body being infused with holy power! While for some reason he remained a dog, he realized he now had superstrength, superspeed, superendurance, could fly, speak any language fluently, and breathe highly destructive holy energies from his mouth! The Angel disappeared, whispering a final blessing, and Velus was left alone again. He knew that with this great power came an even greater responsibility. Were he ever to misuse this gift, it would surely be taken away. But Velus wasn't about to fail. Now that he was a Holy Superdog, he knew exactly what he had to do!
