Francis Explains the Snake Guild

"There's not much to say about the snakelings," Francis replied, "because
they don't have much to say. They're a reclusive lot, and their members
are notoriously tight-liped. What's more, Snake Guild Houses are usually
found on the unmaped fringes of civilization, such as the Fens of
Canmoor. The deadly weapons they forge in their sorcerous smithies are
woven with black magic and are outlawed in most every nation." Fred arched an eyebrow. "Most every nation?" Francis explained: "Most, not all. There are the shadow cities of the south, regular Snake Guild customers. Of them only Walants has the audacity to openly proclaim it's existence. It is said that the snakelings trade the southerlings their accursed arms in exchange for narcotics such as powdered Oberon's Ambrosia." Fred gave Francis a knowing nod. "There are shady figureheads in Allaria who are rumored to have dealings with this Snake Guild," he told them. "I think there have even been rumors that the Snake Guild and the Southern Dragon have an unholy alliance.""Well now," said Francis. "I don't know about that. I've been in this dark underworld, fighting the Dragon's evil, for enough time to know that the Dragon is a loner. What few minions he has are loathsome things, for sure, but they are hardly associated with the snakelings." This Francis character sure did seem to know alot about the Dragon - which made him useful, though Fred might despise him. He had come to their aid and fought bravely, and this irked Fred the most. So did his suave stunts with Astra and his arrogant (as Fred saw it) attitude. His plan to go to the Fields sounded good enough for the time being, even if it wasn't Fred who was leading. He'd let the man have his way for now, until he gleaned the information he needed from him.
