Yet Another Disagreement

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 24688

"How much longer?" Tarsa asked.

"It would take about a week as opposed to two or three days for the more direct route."

"Fred, I feel that a delay of even a day could be fatal. Once I see His Holiness, he can arrange for the ceremony to take place there. I think that if the world is to be saved, the rite must take place as soon as possible, even if the positions of the stars aren't yet optimal."

"That's not what you said earlier." [19641]

"As you may have noticed, things have changed since then. Better to have the ceremony go ahead, even with only a fifty per cent chance of success, than to delay too long."

"You couldn't have done the ceremony back in the ruined Temple, I suppose?"

"No. It's been thoroughly desecrated. No ceremony held there would have any chance of working. Besides, the Holy Water and the Sacred Book that I would need for the rite must have been destroyed. And I need some other priestesses to assist me."

  1. Fred agrees to take the shorter route. It's not really the supplies aspect that worries him; that excuse was simply to avoid frightening Tarsa. But the Agear range is a dangerous place at the best of times, and these aren't the best of times.
  2. Fred is adamant that they must go the long way round.
