Dire Warnings

Months ago I related my fears to you concerning the mysterious disappearance of a local youth named Velus Westwind. Weeks ago I informed you of the boy's even more mysterious reappearance. The boy came to me then in a fit of madness, and I feared that this lended credibility to his story; that he was stolen by the Southern Dragon in the dead of night, and transformed into some kind of hellhound within the dark confines of the Serpent's Lair. He claims the Dragonslayer Lord Frederigo of Suffex freed him from his curse upon beheading the beast. My instinct told me otherwise at the time. I'm afraid my fears may have been proven true today. The boy came to me yet again, after another prolonged absence, and his state had deteriorated greatly. He begins to look like a wraith, and I am at a loss for explanations. I fear he may have brought a hex or malady to this Vale. One thing is for sure, the magic that haunts this boy is black. Unfortunately, he was violently stolen away from my care by his brother, though I believe they are both still in the Vale. In light of recent events, I thought it would be prudent to ask for your assistance in this matter.
