Hell's Waiting Room

"Robinson?" called the receptionist, and one of the men in the waiting
room stood from his chair, walking up to the desk. "Minos will see you
inside," she told him, motioning to the door beside her mahogany desk. The
man turned slightly, looking at the new arrival, Fred, and Fred gasped in
shock at the sight that assaulted his eyes. Half the man's face was gone,
and the skull that was exposed beneath had been broken to reveal the mass
of ravaged brains that something had apparently attempted to tear from the
man's head. The man walked through the wooden door, closing it gently
behind him as Fred looked on in awe. "What is this place?!" Fred exclaimed
after gaping for several seconds in astonishment and horror, trying to
collect his thoughts. Fred saw that there were other individuals in
various would-be fatal states of injury and extreme physical trauma,
seated in various chairs around the room. A stack of magazines rested
atop a couple of wooden end tables. "This is Hell's waiting room," the
receptionist told him offhandly. "Do you have an appointment?"
