So an area of cubes spread out in front of Fred. They weren't prison cells
as each had an easy exit point. They had no roofs. The walls were five
feet high, just short enough to block all sight of any other humans but
not tall enough to give any privacy to a determined passerby. The torchlights were extra strong and crackled most annoyingly. The floor was worn through with constant foot passes. Sounds came from all the cubes. Fred poked his head over the closest one. He saw that two of the walls were taken up by desks. Shelves were hanging from free space. The desk was cluttered with many items. One was a contraption that had five tiny human skulls hanging from strings. Another was a framed picture of three tiny demons in bright red shirts and holding bats. One kid was attempting to devour the head of another. The occupant of the cube had it's back to Fred. It wore a most uncomfortable looking shirt and sat in a chair so badly designed it seemed to be attempting to enter another universe by contracting. "No, no, no." it said into a strange device it was holding up to it's...ear?...by one fanged appendage. "If I told you once, I told you a thousand times. The TP reports have to be stapled to the top of the SQL memos. I know we have the TP information stuck on the wall of the break room, we're just following HELL 9-000. What do you mean, what will happen if we don't have the tp reports? What will Carol file in her system? No, Carol cannot go down to the break room herself. She's a secretary. Secretarys stay on the eigth level. They're not allowed in the break room. Because they're secretarys, that's why!"
