The isle of ManfredMann, far from the landlocked Great Kingdom
On the three hundredth and sixty-fifth day of being incarcerated in Wayward Minds Fred met a flying toad that can shoot heat beams from it's eyes. It's real but of course no one believes Fred. "Of course you saw it," said Headmaster and Arch-Wizard Falfale. "Why just the other day I met a talking moose who likes to pull rabbits out of a hat." "Really?" said Fred. "Hey, wait a minute, Buster. I ain't crazy, I ain't telling a lie, I really, really did see this toad." "First, stop calling me Buster, my name is Headmaster Falfale. Second, where's the toad now?" "How in bloody hell should I know? He flew in, burned a few flies off the wall, licked their remains and flew away. Whadaya take me for, some kinda Naturalist or Toadologist or something? Gawd, you suck, Buster." "I'm going to ignore that remark and just leave." And the Headmaster did just that. He left. Meanwhile, back in Allaria... "He's dead." "Honey, we don't know that for certain." "It's over a bloody year and a half, no news is bad news." "Dearest, we still don't have confirmation." "The King has already set out Sir Paulito and Sir Jay Aich. He thinks Fred is dead." "He does not, honeysuckle, not for certain anyway... those two minor lords and their entourage are going to find out, make sure, and let us know... for certain. Until then--" "Just have hope! Gawd I hate it how everyone is telling me to 'just have hope.' I'm his mother for crying out loud! I can damn well rant and scream about my boy's demise... I have the right!" "Yes, dear... but please leave me out of it." "Dred dear, you suck." "I'm going to ignore that."
