And in regards to those "other mages"....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 23384

And these other mages responsible for it. as was seemed to be implied (but never confirmed)...

Meanwhile

Annafrid

Well, in regards to what we all shall be doing next (short term) is rather simple enough.

We wait. Wait and see if through sources that we shall try to tap through sources in a village that Illura knows of (and still has sympathetic "ears" in), we shall see if Samuel's mage will follow through with our demands.

If Eric shows up, safe and sound after so long, then all the better! Still will have to watch out for Rebecca (rather doubt that Eric's return would signal the Challenge being over). Too easy, that. No, we still probably will have to weather the storm to the end.

Seems to be the course of things from what we've gone through so far.

If not, then.....

Do not know for sure, actually. Believe that we might feel a need to right that, but still again . . . . we DO have so much riding on just keeping Rebecca safe. Push come to shove, I rather do not know if I myself would be comfortable in risking everything on Eric (as cruel as that sounds). Heh, we might split the team to rescue him, but then again splitting the team splits resources we might need in saving Rebecca in case of a sneak attack or such!

And even IF Eric comes back, Samuel's mage and cronies might not take too well to our pushing them about (especially if they find out we ARE NOT responsible for the "mage storms"). Oh, might work in our favor (us NOT be responsible for such disruptive things....cast out on whims), but still they'd be pretty HONKED at being fooled, I'm sure.

That or we still have to watch out for any real assassins who'd been hired by angered barons or such who'd been looking forward to Samuel's way of things....and now have to put up with Illura! Might not strike necessarily at Rebecca (as an easier target to cripple Illura's spirit through emotional wounds), but then again who knows. Some might get it in their skulls that Rebecca somehow played a part in Samuel's death....

Well a day (as Cuthbert would say), we'll take it as we come at it.....whatever happens to "go down".

In the meantime, we've got a few puzzling situations we can try to figure something out on doing for them. Got those two amnesic vixentaurs we might have a chance to bring back to Terra Prime to fix up. Not a guarantee, all considered. Feel that Aaron might be the only one besides Rebecca, if all works out for the best, who we KNOW will be coming back home with us, after all. The rest are up in the air until we come to that point. Then there are the slavish centaur servants that are driving my dear love, Astra, up the walls. In a land that values freedom and adhors slavery, this is VERY hard for her to stomach, despite it being a fluke or such. Even if we do get them back to Terra Prime, Synizn isn't sure that EVERYTHING can be put to right for the female centaur. The slave compulsion, probably, but the memories of her being anything else but what she is now....? Probably not, I get a feeling.

....

Don't know how accurate that feeling is, considering that I was a born warrior (as it were) when I met Jarlath. Not sure where at all that training came from, all of it. Can see it coming in part from the "Fred memories" I have, but still that did not explain how I and my analog sister Annafrid 2 can use a revolver like a gunslinger like Roland.....

Something for much later, if ever, for answers.

  1. Yep, now is to stay low in our forest hide-away and see what we see...
