Fred and Astra stood there cautiously, swords at the ready, until suddenly the crocodile started to leap up at them! They took a swipe at it and heard a voice yell, from out of the mist, "WHOAH NELLIE! Watch where you're pointin' that thing!" The crocodile emerged from the mist, and now they saw that it had not been leaping up at them, but rather trying to pull itself upright. Evidently it was easier to swim on all fours but easier to walk on two. Like the "furries" in that other famous thread, it was an intelligent, humanoid animal--and it was indeed almost 10 feet long, although a good deal of that went into the powerful tail that swished behind it on the ground--its actual height was "only" about 7 and a half feet. The crocodile stared at them in confusion for a moment and then...pulled a jammed tape out of its Walkman...and started trying to unravel the tangled mess. Wait a minute--WALKMAN?! Fred blinked and looked again. Sure enough, the crocodile was wearing a genuine Sony Walkman and a set of headphones--clashing, ugly, blue-and-yellow plastic headphones, no less. "Uh...excuse me..." he said hesitantly to the crocodile, who seemed to have totally forgotten they were there as he tried to rescue his tunes, "I...we....we didn't know you were...a....um....person....we thought you were going to kill us. We're sorry." "Yeah," said Astra quickly, realising that an intelligent being with teeth like that might be even MORE dangerous than an ordinary animal. It wouldn't do to get on this creature's bad side. "Sorry." The crocodile finally looked up at them.
