Madness

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 22831

Fred was not a happy camper to say the least. In fact, Fred was rather mad. Not in the meaning of incensed, provoked, or angry, but rather in the sense of delirious, demented, and plain old crazy. As would you be if you had lost all sense of meaning and purpose so as to lead you to a sex- change operation at the hands of a "doctor" from Walants only to have that experience literally explode in your face leaving you with only half a face! half a chest! and rather wide hips! The only good thing was that no internal organs were affected, and the bleeding from face and chest had slowed to a trickle.

"hehe, huh, heeheh," he wheezed and giggled, "Momma never told me it'd be like this!"

He was dragging his feet along the edge of the woods, illuminated only by the light of the moon. Why was he dragging his feet? you ask. For crying out loud! haven't you been paying attention to this thread at all?!? Half his external body just exploded and melted away! Hell, I'm surprised he's on his feet at all! And besides, he lost his horse hours ago - which sorta is a good thing if you ask me, I mean, who would want a mighty white charger that had somehow turned into a blood-sucking, carnivorous, and cannibalistic undead beast!??!

The leather jerkin hung loosely around his shoulders and upper body (it had been sown to match a rather magnificent female physique which, alas, no longer was), his legs were still covered in the fine armour which his previous wealth had gained him, but he had thrown away the now-bulky chest armour as it only hurt his still-aching breastless chest.

His thoughts turned dramatically from his old life to silk dresses to visions of Walants painted blood red. But even in this deranged mood his thoughts also found their way back to his quest: to seek out and take by force the illustrious Shield of Athena. The last time the Shield of Athena was seen was two hundred years ago when it had been stolen by an ugly gang of goblins (are their any other type?). The shield was purported to make the holder invisible and invincible (though not at the same time).

"huh, shuh, huuuh," he wheezed and coughed, "Ain't no gob- gob- gob- obbblin gonna stand in my %^$#!! way! heh!"

  1. He hears a neighing far from the top of a hillock...
  2. He continues on his tired way...
  3. By dawn he is exhausted and still sees no sight of a village or town...
  4. In the hours before dawn he spies the wooden fences of a village, he is suddenly engulfed by the desire for... meat pie.
  5. He continued on his tired way, despite the familiar neighing from the top of a hillock that echoed throughout the hills, and by dawn he...
