Astra takes down a harpy.

Astra grabbed the thick, carved chess board. She sprung to her feet,
taking it with her. Pawns and rooks and other pieces flew everywhere. She
flung it hard, straight at the bird woman's throat. The harpy tried to fend it off but missed. The corner hit her neck, crumpling her trachea. The bird gasped, spit blood, then collapsed. Astra ignored it's pathetic writhings, bent for the board then ran out of the cabin. Harpies had landed all over the ship. Astra noticed first mate Dibbler being dragged across the deck and Cabin Boy Letterman throwing oranges at another harpy.
