Storm Clouds on the Horizon

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 22807

Castellan, the Great Uniter of the city-state of Vjorica and HighLord of the Tower of Sorcery, paced about the highest chamber in said tower with long strides, his mind clouded with troubles. With the death of Eusebius, the immediate outlook for Vjorica's future was not looking stable. Storm clouds were gathering on the horizon, albeit the distant horizon, and there was absolutely no escaping it.

"If the Order had but one neck, I could snap it and be done with it," he muttered, vainly wishing for the impossible. "Eusebius was the last voice of reason in left within Havnheim, and now he's gone...and with him goes reason..."

How long Castellan had worked to divert history from it's inevitable course! He had always known it was a futile endeavor, but now it was certain. Now it was time to prepare for war.

Coming to a marble pedestal in the center of the wide chamber, Castellan gently lifted a silk cloth imbued with runes, revealing a jet-black orb. It was perhaps his most prized possession, a relic of the Great Empire of Tetrilonia, now nearly 1,000 years extinct; a palantiri seeing-stone, a parting gift from Horkus the Wicked given to Castellan before the "Big H's" death.

What troubled times are these that I am forced, yet again, to use this stone!? Castellan thought, unsure of whether it was a wise course of action he was taking. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I must seek the answers to my questions from beyond the veils of this reality...

Slowly, carefully, Castellan beheld the stone...

  1. ...the presence that greeted him from beyond the ripples of time was that of Baron Zeitgeist, although at this point in history Castellan did not know it. Images flashed into his mind;...a knight and a woman...Caemlyn...death...
