"I see," Fred said. "Well, that would be much better than being stuck here,
even though it would delay my coming to King Emry's aid. Of course, Astra
and Velus may have different ideas, and may wish to return to their own
homes rather than journeying to the castle."
"We're comrades in arms, Fred," Astra responded. "I can do no less than help you restore order in Allaria. You know, it seems unlikely to be merely a coincidence that the Arch-Chancellor should be whisked away at this precise moment. My guess is that whoever is behind the attack on the castle arranged it, so that the wizards would be left leaderless and thus be less likely to provide effective help to King Emry." "So are you saying that the Vice-Chancellor is behind the attack?" Fred asked. "Not necessarily, but at the least I think that he is acting at the behest of whoever is masterminding it. And if a magical field is preventing us teleporting to the castle, then the Vice-Chancellor seems likely to be responsible for that too."
Fred, Astra and Velus donned their armour and collected their weapons, and then Ridcully began his spell of teleportation.
