Bottomless Pit

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 2254

Fred and Buffina pass through the marketing area of the Tournament.
"Amazing." said Buffina. "The dragon has money making opprotunities in his lair!"
Lord Fred noticed a purple swathed booth that said, in large orange letters "PEER INTO THE BOTTOMLESS PIT!"
Fred ran over and dived in.

"FRED!" Buffina screamed.

The pit was twenty feet wide and made of dirt. Occasinally, he would spot a root (that is, until the light from above went away). Fred soon reached terminal velocity. It was exciting, but after an hour it got boring. After ten hours, he fell asleep. When he woke up...

...he was still falling (what did you expect?).
...Buffina was falling next to him with a lantern.
...he was in the Tournament area, being slapped awake by Buffina.
...he was flat on some grass, looking at a sign that welcomed one to the city of Sunnydale.
