Quest for the Healing Potion

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 22433

But Belboz was a wizard, Astra reminds Fred and Checkers. Surely he must have some healing potions stored somewhere in his chamber? If I have to remain a dragon I'd rather be a well dragon.

”Now that you mention it,” said Fred, “I believe I did see some healing potions in Belboz’s chambers. I thought it odd that one bottle was labeled ‘Human Strength’ and the other was labeled ‘Dragon Strength.’”

”I find it odd that you didn’t point the potions out. Either one could have been useful,” muttered Checkers.

Fred was too lost in though to respond. Belboz was dead. If he was indeed the Dragon of the Southern Caves, Fred’s quest was at end. Being the Hero that he was, Fred was only happy if he was on a quest. ”It is decided,” he declared, “I shall go back to the necromancer’s chambers and retrieve the healing potions!”

”But you can barely walk as it is,” protested Checkers. “Perhaps I should go!”

But Fred would hear none of it. “No, this is my Quest, and I must go about it alone. Besides, your knowledge of the healing arts is greater than my own, and you would be of more use to Astra here.”

”Very well,” signed Checkers. “But above all things be careful!”

Fred nodded and hobbled back the way he had come in. As he entered the passageway, it seemed unusually dim. Fred took a moment for his eyes to adjust before realizing that the passageway looked nothing like it had when he was through here with Checkers just moments before! Now, the passageway was smooth and straight…closer examination revealed that the walls were made of wood. Tapestries bearing an unfamiliar crest were hanging up and down the corridor.

Fred decided to turn around. Clearly he had come the wrong way. But where they should have been an archway leading back to the enormous cavern, there was nothing but solid wall! “What magic is this?” stammered Fred aloud. He had no choice but to continue on, hoping he could still somehow retrieve the potions and return to Checkers and Astra.

After a few minutes, Fred finally came to the other end of the hallway. There were three great doors in front of him. Each was marked with one word.

  1. Fred tries the door marked “Arsenal”
  2. Fred tries the door marked “Amphitheater”
  3. Fred tries the door marked “Hostel”
